The Technical Superintendent has shared responsibility for the process of maintenance, repairs and modifications on our ships. You will be the eyes and ears of the Fleet Management organization. You are involved in the decision-making process of what repairs will be done as well of the execution, coordination and financial handling with shipyards and sub-contractors.

The work consists primarily of:

• Collecting information (at various locations) and drafting tender documents and/or activity lists
• Planning and organizing the execution of repairs
• Drawing up the required budgets
• Issuing tenders and conducting negotiations with shipyards and subcontractors
• Identifying, organizing and monitoring the required materials and people for the purposes of the repairs
• You are responsible for the implementation of the repair/maintenance project and leading the repairs team.
• You produce evaluations and draft interim and/or final reports (both technical and financial).
• You maintain intensive contacts and knowledge exchanges with people including captains, chief engineers and other technical inspectors.

• Bachelor qualification, or equivalent education and ability (mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, maritime engineering)
• At least five years of experience as a superintendent, chief engineer or a comparable position
• Technical expertise and experience with one or several types of vessel, and preferably familiarity with Anchor Handling Tugs and/or offshore & dredging equipment.
• Written and spoken mastery of, at least, English
• You should be willing to work abroad regularly (but not on a structural basis).

This organization includes a range of Fleet Management teams with responsibility for the optimal deployment of our vessels and auxiliary equipment for the execution of our projects. Getting the job done requires a professional approach and the optimal scheduling of maintenance, repairs (including dockings) and modifications, and the monitoring of the technical quality of those activities.
