Solutions Analyst 2

Responsibilities & accountabilities

We are global logistics solutions company and are looking for a Solutions Analyst to be based at our Auburn Hills MI location. The Solutions Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Organizing and attending internal and external customer meetings to help ascertain IT requirements as required by plant management
  • Support of new internal/external customer functionality requests at multiple locations across the
  • United States and Canada
  • Develop scope, manage, and prioritize site IT Projects to ensure delivery on time and on budget
  • Provide visibility, reporting and communication with all key stakeholders for IT site projects
  • Manage escalations and issues / risks associated with site projects
  • Train and provide guidance to local staff related to application configuration, functionality etc.
  • Lead the configuration of internal application in support of business operational processes
  • Taking ownership of appropriate problem management activities for IT problems at the site. This includes preparation of Incident Reports, leading and participating in root-cause analysis, recommending and following up on corrective actions
  • Ensuring IT stability at the plant sites
  • Managing budget administration and advisory responsibility for IT capital and operational expenditure of the assigned sites and of their own operational expenses following the guidelines provided
  • Facilitate purchasing and leasing activities between assigned sites and corporate support teams
  • Preparing risk assessments (FMEA’s) and reviewing with core IT teams (application and infrastructure)
  • Assisting in the RFQ submissions by analyzing Statement of Requirements documents to determine software and hardware requirements
  • Assisting with customer presentations which demonstrate company IT processes and software application

The ideal candidate

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
  • 5 - 10 years related experience

  • Excellent conceptual design skills
  • Candidate will be required to develop a strong functional and configuration knowledge related to
  • AOS (internal Oracle based application) in support of above job responsibilities. In order to develop these skills, candidate must have a proven background in database technologies including Oracle or
  • SQL Server, SQL*Plus and PL/SQL, MS Access.
  • Candidates must also have understanding and demonstrated capabilities in the following areas:
  • Software Development Technologies (Crystal Reports, Oracle Developer 6i, architecture and design patterns, application workflow, shell scripting and EDI standards – GIS mapping)
  • Infrastructure Technologies
  • Shop Floor End Device Technologies
  • ERP Applications
  • Automotive customer applications
  • Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) Tool
  • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications.
